We already have guards. Isn't this replacing them?

Accepted Answer

No. Rakshak is designed to sit alongside your existing guard rotation and CCTV, not to replace either. Guards handle what a guard is best at — presence, judgement, human interaction. Rakshak handles what guards physically cannot — continuous coverage of a perimeter too large to walk, with a recorded, timestamped trail of every event.

Question 2

Isn't a drone-based security system overkill for our site?

Accepted Answer

The question we ask before any deployment is not 'do you need drones' — it is 'how much of your perimeter is actually watched at 03:00.' If the honest answer is 'a small fraction, and no coherent record of the rest,' the arithmetic gets clear quickly. That is a site-size problem, not a novelty problem.

Question 3

How does this work at night or in bad weather?

Long-wave thermal imagers are the primary sensor at night — they see a person against ground temperature without needing visible light. Airframes are IP54-sealed against dust and rain, and flight profiles adapt to wind conditions. Full technical detail on the Technology page.

Question 4

Is autonomous drone surveillance even legal in India?

Accepted Answer

Flight operations are engineered to DGCA requirements, including BVLOS profiles under active certification. Airspace clearance is filed as part of the deployment, not left to the customer. TODO: confirm exact regulatory wording with counsel before launch.

What does it cost, and what's the commitment?

The first engagement with every new customer is a scoped two-week site evaluation at a single zone or gate you choose, alongside your existing guards and CCTV. A deployment fee applies — it covers setup, hardware transit, and on-site engineering time, and is credited in full against your first-year contract if you move forward. Before we deploy, both sides sign a short one-to-two page evaluation agreement that locks success criteria, a fixed decision date after the two weeks, and the contract price you'd pay on conversion. No long-term commitment, but not a giveaway. We run a limited number of evaluations per quarter.

Question 6

Where does our footage live? Who has access?

Classification happens on the aircraft. Recordings are stored on customer-controlled infrastructure inside India. We do not host your footage in a foreign cloud, and we do not use your data to train external models.

Do we need a new dashboard to learn?

Accepted Answer

No. Rakshak integrates into your existing VMS and dispatch. Events land where your operator already looks. If you have a workflow, we plug into it.

Question 8

What happens if the drone fails mid-patrol?

Accepted Answer

The system is designed for graceful degradation: aircraft return to dock on low battery, weather threshold, or comms loss; hot-swap docks return a unit to patrol in about 90 seconds. Rakshak augments a guard rotation — the perimeter is never single-threaded on a single machine.
